Setting up your humidor

You have made the decision to protect your cigars, keeping them in peak condition and have purchased your lovely, new humidor. You must resist filling it up right away with your prized collection of smokes! It takes a little while for the humidity level in your new humidor to reach equilibrium. Placing your cigars inside before this is reached, will mean the wood will leach the moisture from your cigars.

Re-humidfy your humidor

  • Fill a shallow bowl with distilled water and put in your humidor
  • Place a calibrated hygrometer inside your humidor
  • Charge the humidification device and put inside your humidor

Monitor the hygrometer

Check the relative humidity every day. It may take from a few days, to a few weeks for the humidity to stabilise. It should sit in the 70 range. Once this range has been reached, allow to stabilise within this range, for at least one week.

Recharge your humidification device.

Remember to keep the humidification device charged and your humidor will always be ready to be filled with your collection of cigars.
