Why do I need a humidor?
If correctly protected and stored, your cigars will remain in tip top condition for a long time. They can even improve, just as wine can improve!
The reverse also holds true, all cigars, even if kept in tubes or cellophane wrappers, can only last a couple of weeks or so outside of a humidor, before drying out. A dried out cigar will burn too fast, will taste rather stale and may even split or crack.
To collect and age cigars they must be kept in a well maintained humidor. In a correctly kept humidor it is even possible to restore cigars that have become much too dehydrated to be pleasant to smoke!
